The Browns, Peyton Manning and the Peyton Hillis Saga!

Should the Cleveland Browns seriously entertain thoughts of signing Peyton Manning? Setting aside the weekly on-going saga of Peyton Hillis who is rumored to be re-hiring the agent he fired last year along with chatter regarding drafting Robert Griffin III and yes--grabbing Matt Flynn out of free agency, we are now entertained by thoughts of the Browns signing Peyton Manning! First, on to the other Peyton--that would be Hillis.

ProFootballTalk has reported that Hillis is planning on hiring Jimmy Sexton as his agent, the same agent (or one of) that he canned last season. As Hillis approaches free agency on March 13 one must wonder why he would re-hire an agent that he fired last year, possibly due to the inability of that agent to secure the contract Hillis seeked. Another thought, merely speculation, is that the rumors of Hillis seeking elite, upper shelf running-back cash are true and few other available agents are willing to represent Hillis--for fear of being canned!

But then, maybe the exposure that Hills has received after being planted on the front of the Madden Cover has created a need for constant media attention--who knows--we will just have to wait till next weeks' installment of the Peyton Hillis saga.

ESPN has reported that the Indianapolis Colts are prepared to release Peyton Manning, considered one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game and a sure-fire future Hall of Famer! Adding to the constant opinions as to whether the Browns should grab Robert Griffin III in the NFL Draft or snag Matt Flynn out of free agency we now will be entertained by Manning being thrown into the mix.

Aside from what will surely be a hefty price tag to acquire Manning there are other things to consider. After receiving neck surgery and being released by his doctor to continue his career will he have the ability to still be a dominating force in the NFL? With such a high price tag can anyone assure the buyer that he will gain full nerve regeneration in both his neck and of course his throwing arm? Most importantly--will Manning even consider coming to Cleveland, surely he knows of the Browns somewhat dysfunctional offense.

Taking into consideration the cost of bringing Manning to Cleveland along with the questions about his neck and throwing arm it is doubtful that Manning, late in his career would entertain any thought of coming to the Browns, however it is a nice break from the on-going Hillis saga!

Haha--agreed sugar bear--the thought of any "plug and play" QB whether it be Manning, RG3 or anyone making a major difference is "wishfull thinking" until numerous problems in other areas are fixed--via free agency and the draft!

There isnt the chance of a snowball surviving in hell Manning would come here OR the Browns would even offer him a tryout. You needed to fill some space so what the hell.....

Yes--highly doubtful the Browns would offer him anything, and yes--he would probably, late in his career be seeking a contender--however "You needed to fill space"--now that's funny--thanks for the laugh!

Sugar bear hits the nail squarely on the head...whoever conjures these insane stories for Bleacher Report should have their media credentials(and heads) examined! Lunacy....
