If Cam Newton Falls to the Cleveland Browns?
by Unknown
The majority of draft experts are picking Cam Newton, Heisman Trophy winning quarterback
from Auburn as the first pick in the 2011 Nfl Draft.
Anyone who has followed the draft in previuos
years is aware that players will rise and fall on the draft charts at a dailey basis.
The Cleveland Browns have the sixth pick of the up-coming draft. If the teams picking above
Cleveland do pass on Newton, what should Cleveland do with their pick?
Several teams picking below the Browns could be looking for improvements at the quarterback
position. This would allow Cleveland to use their pick as trade bait, possibly receiving multiple
picks to fill their numerous needs.
Many insist on picking "the best player available". If at pick number six, Newton is considered the
best available, should the Browns add to their quarterback stable?
Although many fans were impressed with Colt McCoys' performance last season, for a rookie,
many where not, and believe picking Newton (if available) is a must.
Believeing that the Browns do not need to pursue a quarterback, nor the "best player available"
theory, trading down would seem to be the most valuable option.
It is merely speculation that Newton could fall into the laps of the Browns, as teams picking above
Cleveland do need a quarterback. However, if Newton does fall to Cleveland, what would you do? Tags: 'gallery' , feature
