Browns:The Legacy of Josh Cribbs:
Josh Cribbs, the one player that I think will never be forgotten in Cleveland. Josh Cribbs played the majority of his career in what many have said could be the worst decade in Cleveland Browns History. And other than our automatic field goal kicker Phil Dawson, Cribbs has been the only consistent player for the Browns to put points on the board year after year.
I find it hard to believe that any Browns fan would have anything negative to say about the Kent State graduate who has done nothing but give 110% his entire career in Cleveland. Not only has he produced on the field, but he also has embraced this city to the fullest off the field. From as much as attending Cleveland Cavalier games, to fundraising done through his twitter account. He has done everything he can to help this city.
And there's no doubt in my mind that he truly loves the city of Cleveland, Ohio. I'm only 19 years old, so the football I have grown to fall in love with hasn't necessarily been the best football to watch. But I do know one thing for sure, Josh Cribbs will forever be a part of the reason I fell in love with this franchise.
Besides seeing highlight clips and my dad telling me about the days of Brian Sipe and Bernie Kosar, this is all I know as a young fan. And I know that one day my kids will be hearing about the Josh Cribbs days. I believe I'm speaking on behalf of the Cleveland Browns fan base when saying he will always be apart of the family. Regardless of the heart-wrenching and nearly un-watchable football we as fans have endured over the past decade, I feel when Josh Cribbs came to town, he helped us tune in on Sunday afternoons.
Josh Cribbs turns 29 on June 9th and no matter how much longer he suits up in brown and orange, he will forever stick out in my mind as to why I love this franchise. And for that I thank him! Go Browns!
Joe's passion in life has always been sports. He loves writing about the Browns and is also a huge Indians and Cavs fan. He is currently attending The Ohio Center for Broadcasting in hopes to have his own sports talk show someday. You can listen to his internet radio show on Tuesdays from 2-4 at http://stations.beonair.com:81/Rock
