Browns: Just a Different Feeling
by Unknown
If you've followed the Cleveland Browns over the past decade or so, you're one heck of a fan. I'm not sure how they still get the support from the fans after one of the most unwatchable decades in sports history. Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating a little. But it sure has felt that way.I mean losing a game because some dude thought the play was over and decided to rip his helmet off (Dwayne Rudd 2002 season opener). Or putting in your back-up tight end to run the ball up the middle with the game on the line (November 13, 2011 against the Rams). I could go on and on but I don't want to make you relive something you already surprisingly survived.
Each and every season Browns fans leave the stadium at the end of the year with the classic Cleveland Phrase "There's always next year!" Well. Cleveland Fans, this time they might actually have been right. The Cleveland Browns selected Trent Richardson 3rd in this year's draft, gave up on Colt, and drafted Brandon Weeden at 22. And just last week, selected the highly talented WR Josh Gorden in the supplemental Draft. Okay, so the guy smoked a little dope, but with our luck we don't draft him for smoking pot and he becomes a pro bowler. We gotta take a chance sometime.
Now here's a question for ya Cleveland - still want RGIII? Or do you want three guaranteed starters in the three most important offensive positions. Yeah, I thought so. We 'might' have hit a home run this time. Note that I said 'might'. Remember I'm a Cleveland fan and I'm naturally trained to expect the worst until proven wrong. But I can say this with the up most confidence, I just have a different feeling this time. The whole city does.
Every team seems to be getting aggressive in making this city important again (except the team that's actually in contention right now - (cough) - Tribe - (cough) - Go get somebody! I think you would be lying if you told me this isn't the most excited you've been in awhile to see them Brownies suit up off the shore of Lake Erie. Like I've said before Cleveland, why be negative? If you're a true Browns fan it's not like you're gonna quit rooting for them. You're sucked in for life, so get excited!
Go Browns!
