Browns Schedule: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
by Unknown
The Cleveland Browns 2011 schedule has been released, and provided there is a season, many analysts are already weighing in with Pros and Cons, along with their final predictions. After reviewing the Browns schedule, coffee in hand and rain pouring down on my already soaked lawn, I have determined that the schedule resembles the latest round of Cleveland weather--The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!
The Good:
The Browns open the season against the Cincinnati Bengals, a team trying to rebuild and possibly without their starting quarterback Carson Palmer. This is an opportunity for the Browns, with Coach Pat Shurmur to start off on a high note.
Three of the four games to start the season are played at home, the Bengals, Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans, while the Browns will travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts. Having three games at home, with one game away before entering the bye week can be viewed as a plus for any team.
The Bad:
Provided the Browns can "build up a head of steam" at the start of the season and carry that momentum into weeks six through 13, the Browns have a real chance of improving last seasons record of 5-11, enter "The Bad".
Weeks 14-16 will not be so kind to the Browns as they will play at Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens, possible a three game losing streak going into January.
The Ugly:
The Browns come home to end the regular season, against the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Playing the Steelers twice and Ravens once in the final four games of the season is just plain ugly.
