Cleveland Browns WRs coach is first to bolt
by Unknown
By Tony Grossi, The Plain Dealer BEREA -- Browns wide receivers coach George McDonald is leaving the team -- again.
McDonald has been hired for the same job with the Miami Hurricanes.
It's the second time in two years McDonald has left the Browns. When Eric Mangini's job status was being reviewed by President Mike Holmgren a year ago, McDonald accepted the receivers job with Rutgers University. McDonald then returned to the Browns when Mangini was retained.
The assistant coaching staff of Mangini, who was fired after his second 5-11 season, is in limbo. Holmgren met with the coaches on Monday and didn't technically fire anyone, nor did he guarantee any would return. Tags: cleveland browns , coaches , headline
